My name is Diane Mercado and I live in the Bass Lake, CA area. My friends and I have been buying used trailers (and have received a few trailer donations) to provide homes for the Camp Fire victims of Paradise. Over 14,000 homes were destroyed. Chico is a town in distress because of the severe housing crisis. A relief worker compared it to a triage unit. FEMA has promised 80 trailers, but they won't be there for another month (if then). We already took one caravan of 5 trailers to the area. We are planning another trip for Saturday, December 8th, and will continue making trips as long as we have money to buy good quality, used trailers. Some dealerships are working with us in a wonderful way to bring down their prices. If you have been wanting to help in a tangible way, this is it. They don't need any more clothes, toiletries, or other stuff. They need a roof over their heads. May God bless you abundantly as you consider how you can make a difference in a suffering family's life. Please see the news stories below about our work. Thank you so much.
