I am going to use Lindsay’s
post to explain why I have created this GofundMe for some amazing friends. Jason is one of the good guys. He’s always been there to help anyone and everyone any time he’s been asked. This family’s world has been rocked. Lindsay was hesitant in letting me do this but I reminded her very quickly it is so many people who will want to help them during this trying time.

In Lindsay’s words:

Within the last 24 hours, our world has been flipped upside down.

I've tried to keep our family and friends updated, but I mentally can't keep up. Jason asked me to make a post so our loved ones know what is going on. So here goes..

Jason has had some type of respiratory infection for a couple of weeks. He is literally never sick. The one time he had covid, he barely had a runny nose. Also, during this time, his knee has been really bothering him. He seemed to be getting over the virus, but the knee was getting worse. By Wednesday morning, his left leg was hurting him so bad that he called in to work and told me he wanted to go to the emergency room. During our wonderful time at JRMC (and I mean that, we had the best experience), they found his white blood cell count to be alarming and blood clots down his left leg. They also did a smear test on his blood where they found leukemia.

JRMC had him immediately transferred to UAMS. We got accepted by an oncologist and they have been running test after test on him since 8 pm last night.

This is what we know:

He has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL). Which is different than the first version they said he had (which we are happy about). We are still waiting on some test results to tell whether he is standard or high risk. We know he will be starting chemo later today or tomorrow. We know he will be here for at least 21 days. After the 21 days, they will do another bone marrow biopsy to check for progress.

At this time, please just keep him in your prayers. He is one tough dude and he's ready to fight whatever this monster throws his way!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts during this difficult time. I am trying to reply and keep everyone in the loop, but it's hard. I will update more when we know more.
