Hi my name is Meghan Morrow, Delilah’s Aunt & her moms sister. When my sister was 13 weeks pregnant they knew something was wrong with Delilah’s heart & By 22 weeks pregnant she was diagnosed with a vascular ring and monitored through out her pregnancy but told nothing to worry about for now.
At 2 months old Delilah had her second round of Echos and EKGs & her parents were told to get genetic testing and come back when she’s 1 unless symptoms occur when she starts eating. Fast forward 2 months and symptoms started and a CT scan was ordered.
unfortunately the results showed that her vascular ring didn’t only wrap behind her trachea and esophagus but it was intertwined and compressing her trachea 80-90%.
After getting the CT results everything else came quickly for needing and scheduling surgery as soon as possible with risk of stroke increasing. My sister ended up going with a team of doctors that sounds more confident than the first one however it is in Gainesville instead of Jacksonville. This means having to travel and stay away from home for 5-7 days. Plus traveling back a week after surgery. They are hoping she only needs the one surgery but they said there is a high chance of needing a second one to repair her trachea.
at the moment I’m hoping to help raise funds to cover medical cost, travel fees & meal expenses. Unfortunately RMCH & Hope lodge are fully booked so they are having to stay at a hotel while out of town.
Any help is appreciated during this stressful time. Please donate, share or say a prayer
