Travel in a homemade camper in Southeast Asia with us

Hello! I'm Danny, a Dutch guy living in Southeast Asia, and you may know me from my weather updates and daily streams of Da Nang, Vietnam on TikTok (@DaNangDaily). But I have a new dream, and that is to take you to even more beautiful locations, which is where this GoFundMe comes in.

Your support will help me to make my vision of taking Da Nang Daily on the road a reality. But to do that, We have bought the truck from the photo above!

With some much-needed work, it will be converted into a cozy home for me and my trusted partner Maya, who will be traveling with and streaming alongside me.

Most of the labor needed to convert the truck and to get it running properly for long-term travel I can do myself, so your support will go toward the purchase of the truck, any needed parts, and minimal labor costs, if needed. What makes me think I can take on such a challenge? Because I’ve done it before! Prior to moving to Vietnam, I traveled for a few years throughout India in a 4x4 campervan I converted myself. This conversion included a rooftop tent with a bed, some benches, a shower, an A-wing, and anything else that was needed for a stay in the jungles, deserts, mountains, and on the beaches of India. And now I’m going to do the same in Southeast Asia!

Now, we're not expecting to get everything picture perfect before we leave. Our minimum requirements will be the safety of the truck, waterproofing, cabin space for storing our scooter, and a bed on top. And don’t worry. We will be sure to get a safety check at a trusted garage and to take some shorter test trips before we depart at the end of June.

You may be wondering what new content we’ll be showing you, and that answer is…everything! Our usual city and beach walks in Da Nang and surrounding areas will continue until June, but you will also get a front row seat for the truck conversion via live streaming on TikTok (with YouTube as a backup, if needed). And once we get on the road in June, we will live stream everything Vietnam and the surrounding countries of Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand have to offer—bustling cities, laidback countryside villages and farms, serene lakes and mountains, and mysterious jungles.
