My name is Jason, and I’m the sole provider for my family. Because I work for myself, if I’m not working, I have no income. I’ve always been able to handle that responsibility, but today my family is facing something no parent should ever face.

My son was in a devastating automobile accident in North Carolina. He survived, but the injuries are severe. His abdomen is currently open as doctors monitor for additional intestinal damage, and he shattered both bones in his right forearm. He is being kept medically asleep while they work to stabilize him and prepare for multiple surgeries ahead.

The photos attached show the man he truly is — a devoted father, a loving partner, a son who lights up every room he walks into. His little girl absolutely adores him. These are the moments I hold onto while he fights for recovery.

My heart is torn wanting to be by his side, but I am the only source of income for my family. I cannot afford unpaid time off or the travel expenses required to reach him, especially right before Christmas.
