Hi everyone,
This is Jeremy, and I'm driving a van to Ukraine to deliver medical and other practical supplies for the people of Ukraine. The organisation I am driving with is Casus Pax and we are leaving the UK on 22 April for Lviv, Ukraine's fifth most populated city near the border with Poland.
Casus Pax are a humanitarian non-profit organisation specialising in emergency relief and disaster preparedness. Their main focuses currently are providing medical supplies, search and rescue equipment and logistics support across Ukraine, alongside several other projects. They have, since the beginning of hostilities in February 2022, delivered cutting edge, lifesaving equipment worth over £500,000 directly to clinicians across the country. They provide “last mile logistics” services in partnership with British and Ukrainian organisations to ensure vital aid is delivered to some of the most exposed and vulnerable front-line settlements.
The majority of the aid they provide is medical. This varies from high quality, military grade trauma bandages and burns dressings, to search and rescue equipment such as immobilisation slings, rescue sledges and stretchers for civilians on the frontlines. We also provide more general surgical equipment, hospital supplies and rehabilitation devices to civilian adult and paediatric hospitals in frontline regions.
Along with the van I'll be driving, there will be another larger 4x4 also going which will be filled to the brim with supplies. The journey will take around a day and half to two days (1300miles/2100kms). Once we arrive in Lviv, the vehicles will then transported to the front lines in Eastern Ukraine where the supplies are greatly needed.
This is where you can help! While Casus Pax is covering the fuel and a stay while on route to Ukraine, anything else like food, staying the night in Ukraine and then making my way back to the UK is up to me.
