This is Christopher Leigh, he is 27 years old. Since December of 2022, he has been in and out of the ICU, he’s been met with congestive heart failure, which then caused him to go into multi-organ failure, he has had a blood clot rupture in his leg, causing blood to be sent up to his lungs, heart and behind his right eye, which then caused him to lose sight in that eye. “It seems like everytime we went it just was worse each time.” The only way he has been able to walk is with a walker but unfortunately , he’s not exactly strong enough to do that either. He’s been on and off the ventilator, and currently has a feeding tube has he’s been unable to keep anything else down. His kidneys are causing him to retain fluid throughout his entire body and as of today, his heart function (EF) was at a 7. Doctors have tried to wean him off his IV and switch to pill form but it seems like every time he takes a turn for the worse. He began his treatment at Cox South here in Springfield Missouri , but since last week has been flown to St. Louis, Missouri for continued care. Unfortunately St. Louis isn’t as close to home for him or his family, causing a lot of expenses as far as hotel stays, food and gas, etc. This is an excruciating time for him and his loved ones and he’s been able to voice that he just wants to be around the people he loves and cares about, and doesn’t want to be alone anymore. Nothing can help the hurt and pain him and his family are facing but, we are hoping to be able to help cover any and all travel expenses for his family so that they can all be together in this time of need.
