Travel expenses for Priest tothe DominicanRepublic
Donation protected
As a priest of the missionary society of Saint Paul the Apostle, I am very excited to say that I received a grant for $800 to spend 10 days helping the Adelante Mission in the Dominican Republic from March 15th to 25th, 2024. But I still need to purchase an airline ticket for $1,450!!! Would you like to help me invest in a ticket?
The title of the mission “Adelante” suggests the positive spiritual and social growth of the young adults from the Dominican Republic. There is a 35 year background to these mission trips, which are instigated and inspired by our dynamic leader, Fr.Joachim Lally, csp.
The American team tends to be English speaking and the Dominican team tends to be Spanish speaking. The teams work together at building homes and a medical clinic. The American team provides funding for the building supplies and to fund college scholarships for the Dominican youth. The Dominican team provides energy, vitality, and a desire to learn. The teams work together to build community and life-long friendships.
My role will be to
+Provide sacramental leadership in English and Spanish to draw the American and Dominican teams together
+Lead non-competitive games and communication exercises
+Assist with teacher training in Dominican schools
I will need to purchase an airline ticket for $1,450. Will you help with a donation of $100, $50, or $25, (or other amount), and with prayer for our success?
I will report back to you the results of this mission trip.
In Joy and Gratitude,
Fr. Bill Edens, csp (that's me in the picture, on the left)
