Grace Hemmer's ongoing medical treatment
Donation protected
If you have ever met my 12 year old niece, Grace Hemmer, you would instantly learn of her adventurous, spunky nature and love of life. In September 2023, she had a suspicious looking mole removed from her collarbone. When doctors tested it, her parents learned that it was melanoma and would need further treatment.
Since her family lives in the rural area of Shelby, MT, tests and ultimately surgery to remove a lymph node and the surrounding area of her mole needed to be preformed 160 miles away in Kalispell, MT. In addition to the removal surgery, there was plastic surgery and skin grafts that were performed on two other occasions.
After biopsy results were reviewed, specialists recommended ongoing treatment to prohibit any further growth the melanoma. Grace and her family will need to travel to Kalispell every 3 weeks so she can receive IV infusion, Keytruda, for a year. Blood work and scans will also be necessary to ensure Grace is making a full recovery without side affects.
Money raised will help her family with traveling expenses, time off of work, and medical expenses. Please consider helping my sister and her family.
