My name is Angela and I am hoping this gofundme will help our adult daughter get to the first of multiple visits at MD Anderson, Houston. Lydia(24) up until recently was working at an addiction recovery center as an advocate.

Lydia went to the local ER July 7th of this year for a kidney stone and the imaging done found masses in the following: liver, spleen, lymph node area of the neck and lung (the largest at nearly half the size of the lung). Shortly after she was referred to KU Med where they determined that the tumors in the neck and lung are ganglioneuromas which are extremely rare, 1 in 100,000,000, but benign. She has unknowingly had the tumor since roughly age 7. KU Med has since referred her to MD Anderson for surgical consultation and further testing of the liver and spleen for diagnosis as they feel the tumors in these areas are not related to the ones in the neck and lung.

Up to this point we have been told the lung and neck are priority. The tumors are affecting nerves in the brachial plexus (affecting the use of her left arm) and crowding major vessels in the chest. They suspect this is causing her to pass out at times.

First visit has multiple appointments between November 8th thru November 13th. Neuro-spine surgeon, two additional MRIs, cardio-thoracic surgeon. We are hoping to get everything moved into the same week to lessen the amount of time currently scheduled. The funds would be put towards lodging/meals and possibly travel. We won't have confirmation on a charitable flight until 5 days before we are due to leave.
