Two years ago, my dear friend experienced every parent’s nightmare and miracle all at once. Her baby was born extremely prematurely, weighing only 11 ounces. Against overwhelming odds, this tiny fighter has spent the past two years courageously battling in the NICU, growing stronger every day.
Now this little warrior is finally getting closer to coming home — something her family has dreamed about for so long. But the journey isn’t over yet.
In order to be with her baby during this critical stage of care, my friend must travel multiple times each week from Fall River to Boston. The trips are long and exhausting, often requiring public transportation and overnight hotel stays just to be by her baby’s side.
At the same time, she has an 11-year-old daughter at home who also needs her love and support. Balancing the needs of both children has been incredibly difficult.
Because of the constant travel and time spent at the hospital, she cannot currently work, and the financial strain has become overwhelming. Between transportation, hotel stays, food, and everyday bills, the costs continue to add up.
We are asking for help so she can focus on what matters most — being there for her baby during these final months before coming home and caring for her daughter during this challenging time.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help support:
• Travel between Fall River and Boston
• Temporary hotel stays near the hospital
• Daily expenses while she cannot work
• Support for her daughter at home
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help us reach others who may be able to help.
This family has shown incredible strength, love, and resilience over the past two years. Let’s come together to help lighten their burden and bring this little fighter one step closer to finally coming home.
