Travel and Accommodations for Sub Regionals for Cole Smyth

We are the Smyth family. Our son Cole, won 2nd Place Overall at our local Drive Chip Putt Qualifier here on the Big Island of Hawaii! He has qualified to go to Sub Regionals on Oahu July 12th. Sub regionals will be held at Kapolei Golf Course, which happens to be a major tourist hub and hotel rooms are astronomically expensive. Even with our local discount, it's about $450 a night. While we had planned to travel the same day and come back the same day, we are coming to the realization that this scenario does not set Cole up for success. Any slight delay in flight times or rental cars could forfeit his position. We are going to bite the bullet and try to stay over so he can be rested and do well. Cole has an amazing attitude, is super positive! He loves competing and always cheers on his competitors and is super invigorated by participating in tournaments! It's been a major confidence booster for him! We are new golf parents and appreciate any support that would help get Cole through to sub regionals and hopefully on to regionals which will fortunately be right here in his hometown.
