Trash Boats: Alameda Estuary Debris Clean-Up

Our waterways and oceans are being flooded with trash and debris from human activities. This trash is extremely detrimental to the surrounding ecology as well as the oceans at large as it breaks down, inevitably finding its way into the bodies of organisms around the world.
As someone who regularly sails the SF Bay I have been disappointed by the volume of debris and would like to be apart of the solution to cleanup our waterways and subsequently our oceans.
I have been personally cleaning up the alameda estuary using my sailboat and a fishing net collecting over 40 lbs of trash every trip!
So here comes the pitch:

I'm going to set a goal of taking 1 TON OF TRASH from the Alameda Estuary by the end of 2021.

Here's where you come in, with your support I can pay for fuel and equipment but also invest in promotional materials to engage and motivate other local boaters to join me in the cleanup effort.
