end of life transportation to Piedmont

Hi I’m Jon and our family is in a challenging spot. My dad has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. It’s stage 4, and has spread to three of his organs. Since he’s 90 blessed years old, the options for treatment are limited and the prognosis is measured in a handful of months.

Echo and Crystal don’t see their Olsen family very often and there’s scant time left. I’d like to travel with the kids at least once as soon as possible (April); and be able to travel alone or with them two or three more times this year, knowing one of those might be for a funeral.

I reckon between auto costs and gasoline, each trip will be about [phone redacted] bucks. If we can raise 2400+ it will free us from having to cut into savings for these few remaining chances to see Dad, and will alleviate the worry of not being able to act quickly if events change rapidly and especially if Mom needs added help.

This is really about our travel, not medical or other related expenses. Dad is going to have good care, and what time he has left will probably proceed with dignity. But I am not too dignified to admit I don’t have the means to keep up with my regular expenses and fit in either planned or emergency trips. The car is very small, and aging poorly; the distance is significant. We would be so grateful to enable two beautiful young people just a little more time with two beautiful old people. I’ll do my best to bear middle aged witness to the whole thing.
