Movement creates momentum for justice. ASAP Justice Network’s Travel Support Campaign ensures our advocates, formerly incarcerated individuals, families, and community leaders can travel to where
change happens - from legislative hearings in Sacramento to community meetings across California, from court appearances supporting our clients to conferences where our voices reshape policy.
Our founder Jamilia Land has testified before state committees, spoken at national conferences, and attended hearings that resulted in landmark legislation like SB1437 (freeing hundreds from unjust sen‐
tences) and SB1421 (opening police records). But every mile traveled required resources our community doesn’t always have.
Your donation funds:
- Legislative advocacy travel - Gas, flights, and accommodations for policy meetings
- Community organizing transportation - Helping formerly incarcerated advocates reach
underserved communities
- Court support travel - Transportation for families navigating the justice system
- Conference and education travel - Sending community leaders to learn from and teach others
- Emergency travel assistance - Supporting families during crisis situations
Impact Stories:
When SB1437 passed, Maria’s son was finally eligible for release after 15 years. But the parole hearing was 300 miles away, and the family had no transportation. Our travel fund got them there - and brought their son home.
- $25 provides gas for local community outreach
- $100 covers round-trip travel to Sacramento for legislative advocacy
- $500 funds flight and accommodation for national conference representation
- $1,000 supports month-long travel for comprehensive community organizing
Every journey starts with a single step. Every systemic change starts with someone willing to travel toward justice. Help us get there.
