Transportation Access for Montessori Training
Donation protected
Hello!
So I struggled with creating this. We are in such tough times and I know everyone is doing their best to get through. I, unfortunately, settled on the fact that It's okay to ask for help when you need it.
I am a teacher in Chicago and I currently work at one of the few Public Montessori's in the city. I am set to continue my Montessori training this summer so I can fully service my students. I am excited to continue my education and make this style of learning more accessible. Thankfully expenses of tuition are taken care of but training takes place just about 40 miles outside of the city. My previous transportation plans fell through and I am having to recalibrate how I will travel from the city to the suburbs daily without a car. The commute via public transit and metra is just around an hour and forty-five - two-hour commute each way, including over a mile of walking. While this is a possible option there are monitary expenses connected with this and the expense of time. After a lot of thought, I decided that looking into a temporary car rental for the 6 weeks of training would be beneficial and that is what I am asking for support with.
I am a person who struggles to ask for help, but I currently have dental surgery in May and another surgery slated for this summer and the expenses are quickly piling up as we head into the summer months, a time where I, as a teacher, am not working. The relief to allow me to transport myself to Montessori training this summer without the addition of the financial burden that comes with it would be extremely helpful.
The funds raised from this fundraiser will go directly towards helping me access temporary transportation while I continue training to support both my students and my own professional development.
I am deeply grateful for any support.
Thank You
