Transportation for Work and Chase's Medical
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
For those who aren't as intimately familiar with our situation, I'll start from the top. We have a young son who is about to turn 8 years old. He is autistic (he tested in the lowest 2-3 percentile for functional autism). He is non-verbal and he recently began having seizures. I've been working from home for the last six years in order to help take care of him. Yesterday, myself and a hundred or so of my co-workers were let go for a company downsizing. Most of my paycheck has been going to things like co-pays and the medical care that our insurance didn't cover for him. The seizures are a relatively recent development and we need to begin getting him specialized care. That being said, this loss came at a really bad time for us.
As many of you may know, we lost our car back in June. It's caused a bit of a bump in the road for us and now that I and my partner are looking for new work outside of the home, we will need something reliable for transportation. Our last used car we spent 5,500 plus plates and insurance so this should help us get that squared away!
But that was yesterday and this is today! We have a plan in place but we need a little help getting there, and some support to hopefully provide transportation and a start to Chase's care as we get back on our feet. This fundraiser is for a vehicle for transportation so that our options for work are widened. Our goal is to raise enough to purchase a used car and begin Chase's specialized medical care. We've done the math on what we could get a working car for and how much we would need for one month to keep us on track until I'm working again!
Please, if you considered giving us Christmas gifts this year, consider supporting us here instead! We know that these are hard times for a lot of people, and we appreciate anything you can give, even if it's just a share! Stay tuned for any updates on our little man and the job hunt!
