Transport Van for Headed For Furever

Headed For Furever is in need of a transport van!

Obtaining veterinary care in large numbers in the Rochester area has been a struggle since opening our doors in 2020. We have spayed/neutered over 9️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ friendly cats, 3️⃣0️⃣ dogs, and 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ feral cats, but not without a price to our own vehicles.

We are fortunate to partner with some amazing vets in the southern tier, but we find ourselves driving to Belmont, Dansville, and Cohocton from Rochester anywhere from 5-10 times per month. Some days we drive 400 miles start to finish, and it has quickly put thousands and thousands of miles on our personal vehicles.

We are so happy to have been able to spay/neuter over 1000 animals between 2 people in such a short time! However, to be honest we've both decided we can't continue to do this at this magnitude if we don't find a way to fundraise for a van to drive them in.

The miles on our personal vehicles combined with the damage and permanently imprinted smell of un-neutered male cat pee and fish from feral cats has just been too much to bare (if you've ever smelled a feral cat in a trap you know what we mean ).

But all joking aside, we both work professional jobs aside from volunteering to run this rescue and absolutely can't show up at work smelling like that from our vehicles.

We have tossed around the idea of fundraising for a van for a while, but absolutely hate to ask for monetary support to do what we love. With TNVR and kitten season already beginning we've decided now is the time to pray for community support to obtain a van to use.

All of us at HFF hope to continue to make an impact on the homeless animal population by finding them homes and spay/neuter services. We do not want to decrease the number of animals we have the capability of helping, but really need help obtaining a reliable vehicle to utilize in place of our own.

We have set our goal at $10,000 hoping at the very least it will get us a down payment on something we can use for many years to come!
