Transport Jazz to School
Have you ever felt violated and had something significant taken from you? Let me tell you what happened one sunny day in the middle of the afternoon--my car was stolen. I've been living a minimalist life for the last 8 years. I've always walked, biked or bussed everywhere I needed to go. I always told myself, "When I need a car, I'll get a car." When I enrolled in the UBC Education program, it dawned on me: it's time for a car. As a teacher candidate, I knew the program would be intensive. I was only able to find housing a long distance from my school. I grew anxious over getting to my practicum placements. My second practicum will likely be in northern BC and I need to get myself there.
I solved the problem by purchasing 1996 Honda Civic Sedan off Facebook from a private seller. My focus and sense of security returned, and I started putting my mind to the academic task at hand. One week before school started, I was on my way to UBC to go pick up books and stopped at a coffee shop in Kitsilano for about an hour around noon. When I went back to my car, it was gone.
I would be so amazingly grateful if all my friends and family would support me in purchasing another car. Alternatively, if anyone has a good and reliable car up for sale please let me know. When I purchased my car, I did not include any comprehensive coverage, as I was trying to keep the insurance price within my budget. Feeling demoralized and unmotivated, at the time, I did not anticipate getting another car. Consequently, I did not save the car money that was originally budgeted. I am starting again from scratch.
Recently, friends and family have encouraged me to use crowdfunding to replace the car that was stolen.
It's time for a new Jazz-mobile 2.0. I need your help, please, to get through this program!

My short term practicum starts November 13, 2018. It would be serendipitous to have a vehicle by then. More realistically, I am aiming to reach my target by November 30, 2018. I can use my Christmas break, over December, to look for and purchase the new car. Come the second semester in January, I would be ready for my long-term practicum.
