Transport Hope for Donna

Dear friends and family,

As some of you may know, Mike’s mother, Donna, has been in the ICU since last week due stroke like symptoms and pulmonary complications. These issues arose from a routine trip to the doctor. Since Donna did not have her own transportation, she had to rely on a private company to transport her from her home to the appointment and back. This service proved to be extremely unreliable and she was left stranded for 2 hours sitting in a position comprising her ability to breathe. After approximately 45 minutes of waiting, she ran out of oxygen causing an even more dangerous situation. All of this stress on Donna’s body caused a life threatening amount of carbon dioxide to build up in her system. Prior to this, Donna had been in the hospital and a rehabilitation facility due to a broken ankle. We have been given the opportunity to gift Donna and Jerry wheel chair accessible van to help get Donna safely to her doctor and other necessary places. Our dilemma is that the van is in California and we need to ship it to Ohio. (This was a condition of the generous donor.)

We are hoping to raise the $1800 with everyone’s help and generosity. If we are able to meet this goal, this opportunity will greatly improve the quality of Donna’s life as well as reduce the risk of something like this happening again in the future.
