Greg AKA Corbin has been hospitalized for 87 days following a motorcycle accident in July.
He had multiple injuries which included, three broken ribs, a broken nose, three broken bones and six fractures to his pelvis which requested reconstructive surgery and his spine was fused in two spot.
The most damaging injury was to his lung which punctured by the broken ribs causing the lung to collapse. Greg was diagnosed with acute respiratory failure. Incubated and on paralytics for the first two months following the accident. Due to the injuries and very high carbon dioxide level within his body from the lung punctures. He is still on the ventilator for breathing support, but working hard to try and wean from it daily.
Greg also has cystic fibrosis
CF is an inherited life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system.
Cystic fibrosis affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat, and digestive juices. It causes these fluids to become thick and sticky. They then plug up tubes, ducts, and passageways. Causing lung infection, damage and loss of function to lungs.
He will be transferred to a long term facility in Boston whereas Maine does not have a facility that provides the care that he needs at this point.
Thank you for all your support and positive words daily!
