My brother has had Chrohns disease since he was 16. Over the years he has had most of his intestines become diseased and removed . The medications have caused his liver to also become diseased and now at age 60, he needs a liver and intestine transplant. He lives alone in California. He is officially handicapped from his disease and currently requires weekly transfusions to stay alive. He has to be fed nightly through a port in his neck.(no food by mouth) The doctor said that my brother needs a family member to take care of him two months after his transplant. (They won't let him stay in the hospital after the transplant for two months.)I am looking for funding so I can afford to take off work for two months and take care of him in California. If he doesn't get a caregiver , he can't have the transplant.
