My name is Bárbara Helena Rojas González, I am 21 years old, I am from Venezuela. I want to tell you my story at the age of 10. Ten years old I was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus, which affected my kidneys and caused me lupus nephritis, from a very young age I have had to learn to take 20 pills a day, but my doctor had me stable, although sometimes it seems that my life was normal the reality is different, I try to live to the fullest to try to have my mind at peace, in 2021 I emigrated with my family to the United States due to problems in my country and lack of medications but in April 2022 my nightmare began when I thought everything was fine it was not, a stomach ache took me to the emergency room and after studies, they found my active lupus but this time with grade 4 kidney failure almost 5 and my kidney works 18%, they have tried to stabilize me these 2 years but my kidney can't take it anymore, now I am hypertensive, I suffer from anemia and I lost muscle mass, among other things, my stomach suffers from so many pills, since that moment I have been I am hospitalized at least 15 times and I have to go to the doctor at least once a week. The only solution is a kidney transplant (my mother is my possible donor) which so far is covered by insurance but does not cover the medical expenses before and after the transplant and some immunosuppressants that I will need, and I have to stop working. I live in Elkhart Indiana and the hospital is in Indianapolis (2 hours and 30 minutes away) when everything starts, I have to go more often and get studies done almost twice a week, it is very expensive, the year began and I already owe $ 3000, but health is priceless, I want to live, I love life, I fight day by day not to lose faith, but I already feel tired and weak, I suffer from anxiety, every day it is more difficult, I leave everything in God's hands. That is why I am using this method to start the process as soon as possible and improve my quality of life. I am very young and I feel that I can live longer. Mi nombre es Bárbara Helena Rojas González , tengo 21 años, soy de Venezuela. Les quiero contar mi historia a la edad 10 de Diez años me diagnosticaron Lupus erimatoso sistémico, el cual me afectó mis riñones y me causó un nefritis Lupica, desde muy joven he tenido que aprender tomar 20 pastillas diarias, pero mi dra me tenía estable ,aunque a veces pareciera que mi vida fuera normal la realidad es otra, yo trato de vivir al máximo para tratar de tener mi mente tranquila, en el año 2021 emigre con mi familia a los Estados Unidos por problemas en mi país y por falta de medicamentos pero en abril del 2022 comenzó mi pesadilla cuando pensé que todo estaba bien no era así, un dolor de estómago me llevó a emergencias y luego de estudios, encontraron mi lupus activo pero esta vez con falla renal grado 4 casi 5 y mi riñón funciona un 18%, me han tratado de estabilizar estos 2 años pero ya mi riñón no puede más , ahora soy hipertensa, sufro de anemia y perdí masa muscular, entre otras cosas,mi estómago sufre por tantas pastillas, desde ese momento he estado hospitalizada por lo menos 15 veces y tengo que ir al médico 1 vez a semana por lo mínimo . La única solución es un trasplante renal ( mi mamá es mi posible donante) el cual hasta el momento lo cubre el seguro pero no cubre los gastos médico de antes y después del trasplante y unos inmunosupresores que voy a necesitar, y debo dejar de trabajar. Yo vivo en Elkhart Indiana y el hospital es en Indianápolis ( a 2 horas y 30 min) cuando comience todo , debo ir mas seguido y hacerme estudios casi que 2 veces a la semana es muy costoso, comenzó el año y ya debo 3000$ , pero la salud no tiene precio , yo quiero vivir amo la vida, yo lucho día a día por no perder la fe, pero ya me siento cansada y débil, sufro de ansiedad ,cada día es más difícil, todo lo dejo en manos de Dios. Por eso recurro a este medio para poder comenzar el proceso lo más pronto posible y mejorar mi calidad de vida, soy muy joven y siento que puedo vivir más, tengo la esperanza de que mi vida va comenzar de nuevo y va ser normal.
