Transplant help for Daniel Briggs
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
A week ago today we embarked into a whole new journey with my husband Daniel, He has Polycistic Kidney Disease, He was diagnosed in his teens and has been living with this disease until it started making a toll on him on January 2006 he suffered a stroke, due to a sudden hike in blood pressure due to his kidneys which were starting to show signs of shutting down slowly, with his growing faith and love of his family he fought hard and learned how to walk and make function of his legs arm and speech once again, we gained a couple of years and on September 01, 2017 a day before our son’s birth his kidneys took a toll for the worse we went to the ER that night and was told to be admitted inmediately, we were spared a couple of days with medication so that he could assist the birth of our son Aaren, shortly after he was referred to the Transplant center and had a fistula placed in his arm to start dialysis, which started on August 24, 2017. it was very tough on him yet he fought all the way going to work and showing with a smile that this was not going to get through him that he was stronger and wanted to live, we are thankful for all of our coworkers that supported him throughout this tuff time and prayed for him each and everyday at work, as well as for our family and friends that have been with is every step of the way helping us along the way.
On Wednesday of last week we received a phone call at 10:30 p.m from the transplant center coordinator stating that there is a good match for him and was told to await a phone call Thursday, with this being the second call we were skeptical yet anxious
He was hooked up to the dialysis machine as he made the call and the feeling of that being the last treatment turned into a lot of emotions, on Thursday morning he left to work and he receives the call we have been waiting for Pack your bags and head straight to hospital. It was like a dream that you think you are going to come off of it and finally on Saturday Morning his Kidney Transplant took place, surgery went exceptionall well and he did unbelievably great he had a smile when i walked in that room his color was so radiant and not pale anymore. With all the ups and downs that we have gone through this was has been the best, although the hardest part now is the financial aspect of it all, and asking for help is unbelievably hard for us but we know that at this time the success of his transplant will be determined on his well being and support, we have an inmediate need athis moemnt and that is our mortgage our mortgage holder has been kind enough to work with us however we are still behind and with a severe income loss from him and I as a spouse and primary caregiver it makes it extremely difficult since i will have no income at all and his income will be very minimal to none since his insurance is taken out of it, to this we also have to add groceries and gas for the multiple appointments a week that we have to attend as much as we try to do this on our own we are running out of funds which we barely have due to the severe income loss due to dialysis, we would like to ask at this time for any donations that would make this transplant live to it’s fullest and take the burden off his shoulders for a small amount of time so he can focus on his healing and not worry about the stability of his home, thank you for reading our story and being there for us all this time. God Bless
