Transplant for Papa Todd

Donation protected
Todd Mills was diagnosed with leukemia in the summer of 2012. With much love and many prayers from family and friends, Todd spent several years fighting this cancer. Then January 2020 brought his second cancer, a more aggressive type of leukemia that requires a bone marrow transplant. Todd has spent several months in the hospital in Pittsburgh preparing for this life-saving transplant. Through God’s grace, Todd’s third round of chemotherapy has brought him to a place where his transplant is now possible. The transplant is projected for late August/early September. Todd started his teaching career in Oklahoma, and Cerise (Cherry) Best Mills began her teaching career in Texas. When God brought them together, they both started teaching for Youngstown City Schools. They have always believed that teaching in the city schools was their mission field, and God has worked through them to bless countless children and families. Todd and Cherry were the first couple to be honored with the Class Act award from WKBN for their dedication to their students. It was difficult after Todd’s first cancer diagnosis when he had to retire early. So many of you friends and family members have asked how you can help. We need your prayers! We serve a God who is a miracle worker! Please join us in asking God for a successful transplant for Papa Todd, which will allow him to enjoy his children and grandchildren for years to come. We also have a financial need. After Todd’s transplant, he will need to stay near the Pittsburgh hospital for two and a half months. Family housing is approximately $110 per night plus expenses. Cherry will need to spend that time with Todd, as the hospital requires a family member to be with him around the clock. We are hoping that Cherry will be able to teach remotely, so that not all of those days will be unpaid. We know God will provide because He has never failed us yet!  Our goal is to raise $15,000. If you can support Todd and Cherry financially, we thank you. Above all, please stand with us in prayer for peace, wisdom, and a successful transplant.  Please keep us in prayer, Patty Best McComas **Please note that this site will also ask you for a donation. On the drop-down menu, you can choose to donate an amount to them or you can type in 0 %.
