The Mission
My journey didn't start in a kitchen; it started in a hospital room. After losing my mother to cancer when I was 16, I dedicated my life to understanding the human body. I became a personal trainer to help people fight for their health, but I eventually realized the gym is only half the battle.
Our food system is broken. Finding convenient, sustainable food with 100% transparent ingredients is nearly impossible. I got tired of waiting for someone else to fix it—so I put down the barbells and picked up a spatula.
The Grit Phase
In October, I moved back home to Pittsburgh from Oregon to launch a locally sourced, all-organic smash burger pop-up. It started as just me, a tent, two tables, and a grill.
This past winter was the ultimate test. I spent 6-degree days nearly buried in snow, flipping burgers in the freezing cold. But yinz showed up. You proved that Pittsburgh is hungry for food that tastes amazing, but that you don't have to feel bad about eating.
The Reality Check
As a trainer, I know the limits of the human body. Right now, the "hustle" means loading and unloading hundreds of pounds of equipment into my van 3 to 4 times every single week. Between the heavy lifting and the sub-zero prep days, the physical toll of the setup and breakdown is mounting. To keep this mission alive and growing, I need to move from a "setup" to a permanent solution.
The Goal: The Trailer
Because of your incredible support, we are outgrowing the tent. To bring these burgers to every corner of the city—anytime, anywhere—I am raising $19,000 to purchase and convert a dedicated food trailer that I can tow with my van.
By moving into a professional mobile kitchen, I can:
• Protect the Mission: Transition from manual labor to a streamlined, sustainable operation.
• Go Anywhere: Set up at local breweries, parks, and events regardless of the weather.
• Feed More People: Increase efficiency and serve you faster without ever compromising our organic standards.
Where the Money Goes
To get this trailer legal, safe, and on the road, here is the breakdown of your donations:
• Trailer Purchase & Kitchen Build-Out ($14,000): Outfitting a trailer with commercial-grade flat-tops and refrigeration to maintain our organic standards.
• Fire Suppression & Safety ($3,500): Professional hood systems and fire suppression required by Pittsburgh fire codes.
• Permits & Licensing ($500): Allegheny County Health Department plan reviews and mobile facility permits.
• The "Farm Fed" Branding ($1,000): A professional exterior wrap so you can spot the trailer from a block away.
