Transitional Support for Pastor Mark Cooke

Throughout his life, Pastor Mark Cooke has faithful served Jesus Christ in professional and lay ministry. Most recently he served as an associated pastor at Sun Grove Church in Elk Grove, California. On July 29, 2021 Pastor Mark's employment ended unexpectedly when he was informed that Sun Grove was unable to continue paying his salary and benefits. Like many churches, Sun Grove has elected not to participate in the unemployment insurance system for its pastors. Consequently, Pastor Mark and his family are suddenly without income, though the church as offered some assistance.

While the local church organization may lack the resources to sustain the Cooke family in these difficult times, we as members of the church, locally and universal, recognize our duty to care for those in need. This is especially so when it comes to those called to full-time service by Christ.

The goal of this campaign is to provide assistance to Pastor Mark as he prayerfully seeks God's guidance for the next chapter of his ministry and to provide him with the resources to enjoy a period of rest and a recovery after his many years of faithful service to Sun Grove.
