I wrote the stuff below a while ago! To be honest now I'm at the stage where I really really need bottom surgery and if the NHS don't provide that within a year I will have to go private to survive. If they do provide that I will use the money for FFS which would make my life bearable also. I hate asking for money but also pls. Getting these surgeries will save my life. I'm really at breaking point.

As you may or may not know, being trans is incredibly expensive! NHS waiting times (most often over 5 years) force people to use private healthcare, but for many people they cannot afford this, and suffer enormously. There is a mental health crisis amongst trans people in this country because access to healthcare is denied to us.

For me, private healthcare adds a monthly cost of around £200 (for hormones, subscription to private healthcare, and facial hair removal).

However, I am also trying to raise money for surgery costs. Facial feminization surgery (FFS) is very expensive (and not provided by the NHS at all). I would be looking to raise £20,000 for life changing, gender affirming FFS surgery.

The timescale for this is very much dependent on how fast I can raise the money! But for my mental health, the sooner the better.

I hate being put in a position where it feels necessary to ask for money, but I have been encouraged to do so by numerous friends, so I am doing it. The worst that happens is I am in the same position I was to begin with, the best that happens is I raise some life changing money!
