Transition Costs for Missionary in South Asia
Donation protected
My name is Carissa and I am a friend of Husezo Rhakho from Baylor University. This fundraiser is to help him raise funds as he moves back home to South Asia after finishing his PhD in Texas to continue following the Lord's calling on his life for ministry. This fundraiser is to cover transition costs such as rent, furnishings for his new home, and purchasing a car. Thank you for your dedication to providing for our brother in his ministry!
Here is a message from Husezo:
I give thanks to God for His faithfulness and unfailing love. With immense gratitude, I share that I have successfully defended my Ph.D. at Baylor University and received a dissertation award. Thank you for your prayers and support throughout this journey.
Reflecting on God’s guidance, I am overwhelmed by how a simple "Yes" to His call has brought me this far. At 13, a prophecy from a reverend in Nagaland declared that God has chosen me and would send me to the nations for missions. Though I doubted it then, He reshaped my heart, and in 2014, I began my theological training. Soon, I felt led to share the Gospel—even in remote parts of India, where mobs chased us for preaching. Despite rejection from my own community and moments of despair, closed doors became divine redirections. God inspired me to write The Invisible Warfare, which sold 2,000 copies in six months, opening doors to preach across Asia. The proceeds helped fund my studies in America.
Here, God confirmed His plan in extraordinary ways. At a prayer meeting, I learned that a retired missionary who served in China for over 40 years had prayed for a year and a half to meet me. When we embraced, he said I was the answer to his prayers. His mentorship deepened my burden for unreached groups. Later, at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, my friend and I laid the groundwork for Asia Highland Partners (AHP), which started during my Ph.D. at Baylor, alongside Acts Church, Waco. I’m deeply grateful to the pastor and the elders for their unwavering support.
By God’s grace, our missions in Nepal, India, and Myanmar have seen 48 former Hindus and Buddhists baptized in three years. Yet the need remains urgent: of 4.2 million global missionaries, 95% serve where the Gospel is already known, while less than 1% reach isolated regions—mountains, islands, and rural areas—where Christ’s name is unheard. Political and religious barriers further complicate access.
On August 20th, I return to India to lead AHP full-time, training churches to engage these unreached communities. I invite you to partner with me through prayer and support as we equip believers to be Christ’s hands and feet (1 Corinthians 12:27).
Prayer Requests:
1. Graduation (August 16th) and safe travel to India (August 20th).
2. Smooth relocation and transition needs to Nagaland.
3. Wisdom and fresh vision for AHP.
Thank you for standing with me in this Kingdom work. Let me know how I can pray for you as well.
In Christ’s service,
Husezo Rhakho
