Empowering 700 Students and Building a Better Future in Migori County
We are reaching out to you with an opportunity to bring hope and transformation to 700 students, their parents, and teachers in Migori County, Nyatike, Kenya. Together, we can empower young lives, support education, and create a healthier, more sustainable learning environment for generations to come.
This initiative focuses on addressing critical needs in education, sanitation, and environmental conservation through workshops and community engagement. Your contribution will directly support students, families, and schools in need.
What Your Support Will Achieve:
1. Sanitary Pads for Girls: Ensuring that no girl misses school due to the lack of menstrual hygiene products.
2. Latrine Construction: Building at least one simple and hygienic latrine for a school to improve sanitation and health.
3. Tree Planting: Promoting environmental sustainability by planting trees in schools and their communities.
4. Workshop Essentials: Supplying students and parents with snacks, t-shirts, books, pens, and logistical support to enhance their experience.
5. Meals and Teacher Support: Providing lunch for all participants during the workshops and small tokens of appreciation for teachers.
Why This Matters:
Many schools in Migori County face significant challenges, including inadequate sanitation facilities, lack of essential supplies, and limited resources for education.
- Girls’ Education: A lack of sanitary pads leads to absenteeism for girls, holding them back from achieving their potential.
- Sanitation Crisis: Nearly 40% of schools in this region lack adequate toilet facilities, creating health risks for students.
- Environmental Conservation: Planting trees is vital in combating climate change, conserving the environment, and beautifying school grounds.
With your support, we can address these challenges and create a brighter future for these students and their communities.
About the Schools:
We are working with approximately 7 schools, each with about 100 students in Grades 4 to 9. This totals 700 students, plus their parents and teachers, who will benefit from the program. These schools are in rural Migori County, Nyatike, where resources are often stretched thin and community support is critical.
