I’m reaching out for your support as I embark on a critical journey to improve my health, mental health, and overall quality of life. With my mental health consistently declining, I need to act now. I have been diagnosed with lipedema, a chronic and painful condition characterized by the abnormal accumulation of fat, primarily in the lower body. This condition has significantly impacted my daily life, and I am seeking your help to undergo life-changing liposuction surgery.

My Story

For years, I have diligently worked out and watched my diet, yet I never saw the results I hoped for. It wasn't until I couldn't lose weight after weeks of starvation that I discovered lipedema. This diagnosis explained everything – the constant pain, bruising, swelling, and stubborn fat that wouldn't go away despite my best efforts.

Living with lipedema means daily pain and discomfort. Throughout my twenties, despite being active, eating healthy and managing stress and sleep I felt the weight of my condition, both physically and mentally. The frustration of being young yet in constant pain and the unfairness of my situation have been overwhelming. Despite taking care of myself, I often find myself hating my body and feeling awful about my appearance. Leaving the house is becoming more difficult because of the pain and how much I hate my body. Because of this discovery, my mental health has drastically declined, and I feel trapped in a body that doesn't respond to my efforts.

Why I Need Your Help

I am living paycheck to paycheck like so many of us are, and on Medicaid, which makes getting enough help challenging. Despite my financial situation, I am still exercising, dieting, supplementing, compression, and doing everything I can to manage my condition.

However, I know that to take back my happiness and reduce my pain, I need this surgery as soon as possible. The sooner I can undergo liposuction, the faster I can heal emotionally and physically, and in turn, help others who are suffering from lipedema.

Despite the proven effectiveness of liposuction for lipedema, most insurance companies do not acknowledge it as a valid diagnosis and deny coverage for this critical procedure. This has led to legal actions against some health insurance providers for refusing to accept lipedema as a legitimate medical condition and denying a solution that has been shown to significantly improve the quality of life for those affected.
