Transform Braxton's Yard into a Safe Haven
Donation protected
Braxton is a 6-year-old boy with autism spectrum disorder who suffers from Pica and a high lead level. Pica results in Braxton eating non-food items, dirt being one of them. We bought a house in 2022, and unfortunately, our yard is full of lead. One of Braxton's favorite activities is playing in his fenced-in backyard, where he jumps on his trampoline, and plays on his swingset, but we're now facing the problem of him eating lead-filled dirt. We have tried staking outdoor grass rugs into the ground, but he is able to pull them up, so now we're looking into other options.
The best option for our family is having a company put turf in, but that is extremely expensive, which is why we're starting a GoFundMe to transform our backyard into a safe play area for him.
