I am Sea Sombar and I believe that the surest way to bridge divides is through personal storytelling. Across America, the lives and rights of trans youth are being debated, legislated, and often erased from the public. As an advocate and filmmaker, I feel a moral urgency to create this project now.

After Trump's executive order caused my care to be cut off and many others whose lives were saved by gender-affirming care, I knew I had to share the voices of so many young trans people who have been misunderstood and misrepresented. That is the journey of Transcribe. Our mission is simple but massive: to drive coast-to-coast, border-to-border, ensuring that every state contributes to the mosaic of the modern trans youth experience. We are delving into the most critical issues of their lives: access to healthcare, social lives, school safety, the political forces shaping their futures, but also who they are as people aside from transness. Our initial interviews in Pennsylvania proved that these stories are raw, vital, and immediately impactful.
