We would also like to share an update with our community first about the success of our last retreat.
The Jasmine Powell Leadership Retreat was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!! We could not have accomplished this without the financial support from our communities locally and at-large.

We were able to fly 16 TGNC Bay Area leaders down to Jamul, CA for collective healing and to strengthen our leadership and activism capacity. 68% of our participants are BIPOC with 50% being Black and Trans.
Your financial contributions make this all possible.
This rad team of leaders will be our leadership team for our annual retreat in September of 2022. This will be our sixth retreat and our fourth in-person retreat. This work could not happen each year without our Core Organizers. From TRANScend Retreat's inception this has been an integral piece to supporting new and established TGNC leaders, keeping our programs emergent, and led "for and by" our communities, specifically black and brown trans folks.
Janelle and Spring, the Program Directors of TRANScend Retreat fundraise all year and are still looking for your support.
On this GIVING TUESDAY we ask for your support.
These funds will be used for:
1. Rental Deposit at Saratoga Springs for our large in person gathering (100+ folks) happening in 2022.
2. Two quarterly meet-ups (Spring/Summer)
-one for our core leaders (pictured above) and one for new and old communities to gather as trans and genderqueer folks locally.
3. Stipends for Core Organizers (planning happens throughout the year)

Hey Squirrel Friends ,
We are excited to announce that we are back with TRANScend Retreat. This year we are hosting a leadership retreat named after our good Judy, Jasmine Powell. Jasmine was a dear sister and friend to our community. Jasmine organized w/ TRANScend Retreat and was involved in all of our events. We are sad she is not here physically but know she’s here in spirit cheering us on.
The Jasmine Powell Leadership Retreat will take place Nov. 4th-8th, 2021 in Jamul, CA. We are flying ✈️ 20 folks there to organize, heal, and relax. This will be an opportunity for us to all gather again safely and plan for the future of TRANScend Retreat as well as other local and national trans-led events.

TRANScend Retreat has become a staple in the community and we want to ensure that it’s magic is still being spread.
Last year we hosted TRANScend Retreat virtually due to COVID-19. We are very excited to be back together this year and look forward to 2022 when we will host our large gathering again at Saratoga Springs.

In 2019 we raised around $10,000 from our community and we hope that we can ask again for your support. This program is an integral part of our communities ability to heal and gather safely as TGNC folks.
TRANScend is a gathering specifically designed for and by trans and genderqueer folks to teach each other, self-organize, create paths of resilience, redefine resistance, heal, socialize and deepen our social justice movements. We need you to make a donation today to support this important event!
TRANScend prioritizes people of color (POC) in our leadership and at our retreat. Our organizers are 84% POC, 60% Trans, and 40% Genderqueer.

*Stipends for Workshop Presenters and Organizers (prioritizing black, indigenous, and people of color)

Having this financial support will ensure TRANScend Retreat, now in our fifth year, will be able to serve a deeply diverse group of Bay Area leaders across lines of race, ethnicity, gender, and class.
It is more important now than ever for trans and genderqueer folks to have this safe space to come together as community to organize and retreat, especially after this last year with COVID-19 and as we saw a record number of trans murders and violence!
