Transatlantic Crossing 2020 solo & unsupported

Transatlantic Crossing 2020 (Mid-June). Solo and unsupported from New York to England.

A dream is in the mind of the believer and in the hands of the doer. You are not given a dream without being given the power to make it come true. I have a dream and now I’ll see it through.

In short what am I doing and why? I will attempt to and hopefully succeed in crossing the North Atlantic Ocean from New York to England next year in mid-June. Rowing a distance of approximately 3,280 miles, I’m expecting this journey to take somewhere between 75- to 90-days.

Why? This is certainly a much deeper question that cannot be fully answered briefly, but if I try to be concise then here is why.

First, I had a dream of achieving something extraordinary in my life and this fits that concept perfectly.

Second, I love Nature and our planet and would like to bring some more attention to the basics of what’s bigger than us or what enables us to live in the first place – which is Nature, our planet. I think in this “modern” age where we are surrounded by technology and social media we tend to forget what’s truly important, which is the fact that the natural environment is really not only for us, but every living creature on this amazing eclipse called Earth.

Third, hopefully I can inspire and motivate some people in the process of finding my own limits and working through obstacles and challenges that I chose to create for myself by undertaking this great project, and sharing some interesting content and my thoughts through my website & other social media.

Forth, I think that in everyone’s life there is a time to stop, reflect and perhaps, appreciate where we are   in the form of paying it forward to those that are less fortunate in life and / or need help. For me, I have decided to do so by supporting the Challenged Athletes Foundation (“CAF”). Their mission is to provide opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so that they too can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. I will donate 20% of all funds raised to this foundation.

Fifth, I have come to realize that from the time I was born until now, I have never been alone for an extended period of time. For quite some time now, I have been craving for time alone to sort out my thoughts, to understand who I really am and where I am going in this life. We are all living busy lives where it’s hard time to stop to simply meditate or just be alone to rediscover who we really are, and for me, this endeavor is one way to do it. Yes, quite extreme, but I am sure that once I get out the other end, I’ll find what I am looking for.

I am the driving force behind my journey from start to finish, I have no professional team or any sort of support. Though I am fortunate to have some good friends who are willing to give me advice or help me park my boat in their backyard. That being said, I know I can’t do everything alone and money goes a long way with paying for all the necessities related to this project. In an ideal world, I would be able to invest 100% of my time to prepare for this project, including marketing, networking and training without worrying about limited funding. However, that is not the case and in reality, I am working full-time up until my departure.

Donation proceeds will help me pay off the loan used to purchase my rowboat and to cover expenses associated with the North Atlantic Crossing next year, including food supplies, container shipping, flight back home, etc.

I withdrew all my savings and took out a personal loan as I believe in taking action rather than waiting for external funding. That being said, any financial support and help is very much appreciated. It would truly mean the world to me.

What will the 100,000.00 pay for?

I can't afford to take time off before my trip to full time train or promote my journey, I do not have a support team or anyone helping for that matter. This is journey is wholeheartedly my own effort and I can't express how much support any of you means to me.

If you love adventure, nature and life as I do, then perhaps, you could appreciate what I am trying to do :)
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
