Trans Woman in need of a Legal Name Change
Hi, I'm Winona, and I'm a nonbinary trans woman residing in Arizona! I've been fully out in all of my social circles for over a year, and I'm working on saving up enough money for any processes that would help in my transition!
I've already drawn a lot of savings just to obtain a therapist's letter to approve of my hormones. Next, after I receive treatment (sometime after February), my physician can write a letter to approve of a legal name and gender marker change. According to the National Center for Transgender Equality, the fee for filing a name change in Arizona is around $320.
If I could get help in covering a legal name change, it would be a huge help in allowing me to save up for other things I might need, like any hair removal or other gender-affirming medical procedures. I spend a lot of my time trying to pay for my transition with my minimum wage job and whatever else I can find to cover the costs.
Anything helps! Even if I end up raising only half or a quarter of the amount, it will still alleviate how much I would have to work and save for the total cost!
If for some reason I'm unable to legally change my name, or if I have any leftover or surplus funds, it will go towards laser hair removal or electrolysis on my facial hair.
