Help trans woman afford housing

My name is Emerson Borakove and I am a trans woman from Nebraska who is living in New York for college. When I came out my family rejected me and was extremely disapproving and controlling. The situation with them has progressed to the point where it is no longer safe for me to return to Nebraska due to their intense Christian views. This, combined with being forced to leave school due to lack of tuition funds, means I am unexpectedly having to support myself early. While I have some savings I have nowhere enough to avoid homelessness and ensure safety.

Luckily I have an amazing network of support and will be able to stay with friends while I figure out what I am going to do. Furthermore, I have a good job lined up that will be able to pay for housing once I start work. Here is the less lucky part, this job is only reachable with a car and I have none. I am stuck having to decide if I need to turn down this high-paying job in my field for a shitty one that I can reach without a car. Which would be less than ideal.

At the very least this could help me pay for gas for rides from friends or ride services while I save for a car. If we raised a bunch of money maybe I could go back to school in the fall which would be excellent but I have to survive first.
