hiiii everyone. :-)
My name is Wyatt and I am a 25 y/o trans person. I need top surgery, it is scheduled for November 17th, and it costs about $8,000. If you are able to donate any amount, I would be incredibly grateful. But do not feel pressured to if you don't have the means : -)
I need top surgery because I feel incredibly dysphoric my chest every day...
Top surgery is the main thing that i need to feel normal in my body again, the way i used to feel when i was a kid . I have horrible posture and back pain and have to strategize daily about how my t-shirt fit me. But I can hardly stand to think about what I am missing if I do not get this surgery and I know this will free me up in ways I can't articulate or even imagine.
After an emotionally laborious back and forth with my insurance they finally approved it- only for my dad to lose his job literally the next day and for me to lose my health insurance. In order to extend my coverage and avoid the surgery cost of 12,000 dollars, I would like to pay $500/month out of pocket for the next five months until the surgery date ... this is what i decided to do to keep my surgery date and it will be so much more affordable this way
my surgery date is projected to be november 17th. I am fortunate enough to have had the stability to save for some of it, and even more fortunate to have some help from my family. Even so this surgery costs a lot... And I want so badly to be able to follow through with the surgery as planned. I would also like to express my appreciation for all of the support I have received throughout this ~journey.~ I am so grateful for everything that being trans has given me. Thank u to everyone who has ever taken the time to see me for who i really am :-))
I'm working part time at two different jobs currently and will be saving as much money as I can to put towards my surgery- but it's still a lot. On top of this I will also have to pay for additional fees for me and my care takers Airbnb during the two weeks of my post op for the current covid-safety requirements.
Any help, from small donations to even just sharing the GoFundMe, would mean the world to me!
