Trang Family

Kevin and Tania were thrilled to find out they were pregnant with baby girl number 2! At their ultrasound they discovered that baby Gianna had spina bifida which means the baby’s spine was growing outside of her body. Leaving their 2.5 year old daughter Mia in Lancaster, they traveled 6 hours to UC Davis in Sacramento to have surgery on the baby while she was still inside Tania to fix her back. While the surgery was successful, baby Gianna decided to make her appearance at 25 weeks and will be in the NICU for some time until she’s big and strong enough to go home. 

Tania was working in an emergency room as a tech, and unfortunately did not accrue enough hours to qualify for FMLA. So she will not be getting paid during this stressful time. On top of being far away from her older child she has to deal with the financial stress of only having one income. If you know Tania you know she is one of the most hard working people you have ever met. She would always come in when the department was short and was always willing to help. I’m hoping we can give the Trang family one less thing to worry about during this horribly stressful time, so they can all focus on baby Gianna and healing. Anything can help, and thank you!
