Atiteti is a small, robust village that has survived several years on subsistence farming and fishing in the Keta Municipal District in the Volta Region (South Eastern) part of Ghana. Atiteti is a peaceful village with a population of over 500 people, including children.
There are no significant economic activities in the village. The main occupation of the town is farming and fishing. These occupations have declined at the moment due to climate change. Children could not have a quality education due to a lack of financial support. Ghana's government has recently changed the schooling system from parents paying school fees to free education for all primary schools; however, proper education has seized completely. No study materials, schooling accessories, and even a good building provided for students to comfortably study.
Moreover, when students struggled through these educational hardships from Kindergarten, primary, and finally complete with the grade 9(junior high school) certificate, many could not qualify to enter high school for their diploma because they performed poorly with a disqualifying GPA. Other students drop out of school due to lack of sponsorship, although they are intelligent and brilliant pupils. Last year, kind-hearted families of the Atiteti community decided to support Atiteti village by building a sound library and a vocational training center. They had already donated over 200 study materials to the Atiteti Basic School pupil to enhance quality education. They also bought plots of land to build the library and the vocational training center to train those who could not afford higher education to learn a trade.
Atiteti Village V/R, Ghana, is requesting your support. Will you walk with us on this journey to provide quality education to Atiteti Village? Please help donate so we can bring these children the much-needed opportunity of higher education.
Where you were born should not determine if you will succeed in life. All these children deserve an equal chance to education and career. Thanks for your support.
