However, we are a Private Practice that has special interest in Black Individual’s, Black Families, and Black Couples. We hire Black Clinicians as a platform and opportunity to pursue their highest dream and desire in the Mental Health Space that is not easily reachable and accessible. I created this page to help Black Therapist reach their highest potential in their field. Black Therapist only represent 4% in the US population of Therapist. One is the cost and training associated with becoming a License and Certified Provider. In addition to being trained in a world class theory of thought it is expensive and costly to become trained in one Theory. For example it might cost a Therapist anywhere between $3000-$5000 just to become certified in one Theory. This already after College and becoming trained to be a Therapist because College alone is not enough. There is a huge demand for Therapist more then ever especially Black Therapist. You might already experience the impact of this by reaching out to Black Therapist and recognizing the shortage or the extremely long waitlist just be seen. The truth is there is just not enough Black Therapist to service the high need and demand. I thank you for you time and consideration.  How funds will be spent: April Lancit and Associates will hire two new therapists in training. Therapist will be trained in systemic thinking along with understanding the influence of cultural and environmental factors. Each Therapist will receive ONE of the following training (1) Gottman Methods of Couple Therapy, (2) EFT Emotionally Focused Therapy, or (3) IFS Internal Family Systemic Theory. Each therapist will become certified in Prepare/Symbois which focuses on pre-marital counseling. Each therapist will receive financial assistance towards the cost of licensure exam, study material, and supervision.
