I always hate asking for help, but I got to the point where I need to stop being stubborn. I’ve been hemorrhaging money and I’m not in a good space.
Last year I started this GoFundMe last May to move out to my parent’s property, but it took them a year longer than expected to get water and electric onto the property on top of them severely overestimating the amount of space that would be on their property for an extra trailer. My dad also was going through cancer treatments which slowed development down (He’s cancer free now!!)
I raised about $1700 and with that I purchased household items like a bunch of kitchenware and storage. Unfortunately a large chunk of it ended up going to my cat Rox’s vet bills which went up to $1900 to try to cure an infection. (She’s good now!!) On top of everything then I needed to get surgery for GI issue. Because the property wasn’t ready, the rental market sucks, and so many other things I just stopped taking donations here.
However, on Christmas I was opening up the mail and found a letter from my landlord saying that our rent would go up by $500 on June 1st which means my half of the rent was going to go up to $1600. Needless to say I’m getting out and I already put my notice to leave by the end of May.
Trying to get apartments has been hell, and not knowing where I wanted to go hasn’t made it any easier. Being self-employed makes it more difficult to prove to potential landlords and but I know the whole game now. As of right now I have an application out on one apartment, if all else fails I’m just going to live in less-than-ideal conditions with my parents for a little while as I get out of debt and save some money.
After a year+ of medical and financial drama, car drama, uncertainty of where I’ll be living, and so much more I’m just emotionally exhausted. This only covers a fraction of everything. Any help folk can give is greatly appreciated.
Immediate stuff I need help with:
Get the cats’ vaccinations up to date plus senior cat blood panel. Estimating about $1200. They need updated vaccinations to get into the apartment I applied at, but I want all of this done in general and by their current vet. Appointments are May 1st and 2nd.
Gas for my car for some back-and-forth trips: about $240 would help.
Uhaul: $250 I think?
Things that would be nice to have:
Help with the debt from car repairs (speed sensor fixed twice, didn’t want to go back to the first hack): $900
May rent help since I don’t know how much commissions I can take: $700 (out of $1350)
Things that are still up in the air:
As of this moment I’m not sure where I’m even going to. If I get approved for this apartment I’ll need to give them $2600 for the first month and deposit and set up the internet. If I need to move to my folk’s property I’ll need an AC unit, a storage container, and materials to build a catio.
I have an updated Amazon wishlist, too. The Feliway is what I’ll need the most: Amazon Wishlist
And a Ko-fi link for those that like that better than here: JL's Ko-Fi
Thank you!
