Tragom Logosa is a new Christ-centered nonprofit organization based in Pančevo, Serbia and led by Aleksandar “Aki” Franc (Ana Marija Weinhardt’s brother). Ana Marija sits on the board, as well as Jasna Maksimović.

“Tragom” roughly translates as “trail”, and “Logosa” is a Serbian transliteration of the Greek word “logos”, which means “the Word” and is used in the Gospel of John as a name for Jesus. Thus, Tragom Logosa intends to trace “the trail of the Logos” - the path of Jesus - through every sphere of life; it intends to show how God is the ultimate Source of everything that is good and true and beautiful in the world, how He has the power to transform every sphere of life, and how all these things are created with the ultimate purpose of displaying His glory.

The goals of Tragom Logosa:

1. The promotion of Christian values and ethics;
2. Connecting the Christian faith with all spheres of life in both practical and creative ways (e.g., music, literature, film, the arts, the sciences, math, health, business, etc.);
3. Charity and humanitarian work in the territory of the Republic of Serbia;
4. Encouragement and support for people in studying and understanding the Christian faith and providing help for them to progress in their daily spiritual lives;
5. Cooperation with other Christian organizations, alliances, and associations in the country and abroad.

Tragom Logosa will work to accomplish these goals by:

1. Organizing public seminars, lectures, forums, and small group gatherings for the sake of Christ-centered theological, historical and cultural education;
2. Organizing sports, music and educational camps, fitness training,
hiking, camping, excursions and social clubs;
3. Organizing cultural-educational and artistic evenings and public concerts
(e.g., instrumental, choral, solo singing);
4. Volunteering in projects organized by related organizations in Serbia and
abroad;
5. Organizing evangelization in the premises of Tragom Logosa and other related organizations, in churches, as well as in public places;
6. Preparing, creating, processing, and distributing related audio and video materials for the promotion of Christian values;
7. Distributing printed materials.

With the Lord’s help, Aki had already been able to organize a good number Christ-centered movie nights, book clubs, Bible studies, and fitness groups (even while maintaining his current employment), and there is growing interest from both believers and nonbelievers for more! Aki has also been able to draw in a good number of believers and local churches into partnering together for the sake of the ministry!

Stepping out in faith, Aki has recently signed a three-year lease for an office and meeting space for Tragom Logosa, and has already begun significant repairs and remodeling to prepare the space for use. Over $4,000 have been spent from Aki’s own personal savings for these kinds of start-up expenses, and $2,000 is still needed for necessary improvements to the meeting space (i.e., a small kitchenette and a pair of double doors that will help improve energy efficiency). An additional $2,000 for a pair of couches would also dramatically improve the usability and welcoming atmosphere of the meeting space.

Ongoing costs for rent and utilities will amount to a minimum of $600/month, and if the other operating expenses (maintenance, consumables, advertising) and a modest salary (so Aki can start doing ministry work full time) are added, the total monthly expenses add up to roughly $2,400/month.

For this reason, Ana Marija and I ask that you prayerfully consider both (1) a ONE-TIME donation to help cover the start-up costs and (2) MONTHLY giving (to help pay the bills and free Aki for full-time ministry.

And most importantly, we ask you to PRAY for Aki and the work of Tragom Logosa! Pray that hearts would be softened to the gospel, that Aki would continue to grow in his own walk with the Lord, and that a door for effective ministry would open so the Church in Serbia could be strengthened and so many who are lost may be saved!

Grace and Peace,
