A Documentary Born from Love, Loss, and Awakening

My name is Amber Briscoe. I’m a mom, a producer, and a storyteller. I spent years working in television and documentary before moving into advertising, helping others tell their stories.

I never imagined I’d be telling this one.

When my 18-year-old son, Jagger, died suddenly, I thought my life was over. The silence in our home was unbearable until the signs began. Lights flickering. Songs playing at exactly the right moment. Messages that felt impossible to ignore.

In my search for meaning, I met two other mothers. Sarah lost her son Elijah to murder. Amy lost her son McKellar to suicide after a long struggle with his mental health.

Three mothers.

Three sons.

Different stories, the same unbreakable love.

Together, we began documenting what was happening. The signs. The synchronicities. The ways love kept showing up long after our sons were gone. That’s how Tragic to Magic was born.

This is a film about grief, yes. But more than that, it’s about awakening. About discovering that love doesn’t end when a life does.

Where We Are Now

What many people have seen so far is a proof-of-concept teaser, edited from early Zoom conversations to capture the heart of this story and show what the film can become.

Now, we are at the very beginning of the real journey.

We are raising funds to move into full production, filming in person with the mothers, the experts, and the Helping Parents Heal community, including on-the-ground footage at the HPH conference.

This phase is the heart of the film.

And it can only be told face to face.
