Tragic Loss of Robert Ellis Long

Robert Ellis Long, 29, tragically lost his life the 24th of February, 2019. He leaves behind a wife-Brittney Long, a son- Paul Ellis Long (1 yr), a brother and 3 sisters, 4 nephews, 2 nieces and hundreds of friends who are heartbroken and lost without him. He previously served in the US Army 82nd Airborne division from 2008-2012 and was currently employed with Guy M. Turner Inc. in Greensboro.
As I'm sure you can imagine, Brittney and their son, Paul, have had their world completely flipped upside down. Brittney will not be returning to work for a couple months while she copes with the loss of her high-school sweetheart and figures out how she will begin to start putting the pieces of their life back together. With Robert's death being unexpected, comes unexpected expenses and as a community, I'm hoping we can come together to help lessen this burden on her and little Paul.
As a friend of the family, I wanted to start this fundraiser for them to alleviate some of the family's stress. During this time, they need to focus on healing- not finances. Brittney will have to cover their mortgage, car payments and everyday living expenses as well as costs related to a memorial service. Although their hearts will never fully recover from this tragedy, they need all the help, prayers and support they can get to get their life back on track as best they can. I'm also requesting that you share your favorite memories you have with Robert so that the stories can be passed down to his son when he is older.
About Robert and his family:
Robert and Brittney met January 1st, 2007, when they shared their first kiss. They began dating shortly after for a year until he went into the army. The pair stayed in touch and spoke frequently through letters and long-distance calls. When he returned from Afghanistan in 2011, they made their way back into each other's arms. Brittney and Robert were together for 5 years before he finally asked her to be his wife and the two were married September 17th, 2016. Their first and only son, Paul Ellis Long, was born November 22nd, 2018 and he made Robert so proud. He loved taking his son out on the golf cart, chasing him around the yard and teaching him how to fish. He loved his little family so very much.
I've always been proud to be part of the Southeast Community because we are one huge family- and when tragedies happen we work together to lift others up and this family needs lifting.
