Aaron Simpson tragically and needlessly lost his life, at the home that he shared with his mother Constance and his brother Andrew. A freak accident, after what began as a routine attempt to climb into his bedroom window, turned into a nightmare. The ultimate tragedy here, is that Aaron's story should not have ended with his untimely death, and had it not been for the gross shortcomings of McLennan County EMS, Falls County Sheriff's Office and Bruceville Eddy Police Department, he would be telling the story of his recovery instead.

> On December 16th 2021, Aaron attempted to climb through a broken window, as his key was locked inside the home. A large piece of glass from the fractured window lacerated Aaron’s arm, hitting a major artery. Aaron’s brother Andrew fashioned a tourniquet, and knowing that the gash was serious, immediately called 9-1-1. In the end, emergency services took an hour to arrive. As Andrew held Aaron, and realized that help was not coming in a timely manner he made a phone call to their mom Constance, who was working in Arizona, pleading for her to help. The moment she heard the news, Constance jumped into action and called the Bruceville Eddy Police Department which is located not even 5 miles from their home. She was told that because she lived in Falls County, they could not assist and told her she would have to call McLennan County EMS or Falls county EMS. When Constance was able to get through to McLennan County EMS, she explained to the operator that her son desperately needed assistance and expressed her worry that he was going to bleed out and die if help didn't get there quickly. McLennan County echoed Bruceville Eddy PD and told her that she needed to call the Falls County Sheriff's Office. Once Constance was able to track down the number to the Falls County Sheriff's Office, she called the number multiple times and was met with a busy signal each time. She searched frantically for another number, and found one more number to try. A jailer answered this time and told Aaron’s mother he would contact the local EMS and have someone call her back. Aaron’s mother waited for a return call, but it never came. She made a final attempt to reach the Falls County Sheriff's Office, and was informed by the same jailer that he had forgotten to call her back, but had dispatched a deputy and the fire department to the location. Aaron bled out in his brother's arms before EMS arrived. Aaron's death occurred less than 15 minutes away from Baylor Scott and White emergency room in Waco, but he never made it there waiting on EMS. Aaron’s funeral expenses have reached over $14,000 and state law also demands that she will need to have the home professionally restored to address the cleanup of the blood lost in the home. The financial toll of these events pales in comparison to the heartache and emotional distress that Constance and her sons have endured. However, the expenses are only building at this time, and have created a true hardship for Constance.
