With heavy hearts, we are reaching out for support as we navigate the unimaginable loss of our sweet mother Aleta. She was the most patient, kind, and loving soul-someone who truly embodied warmth and compassion. She treated everyone she met as family, welcoming friends of her children as her own and showering her grandkids with endless love.
She had a heart of gold and a spirit that shined so brightly in this world. As a devoted nurse, she cared for her patients with the same tenderness she showed her loved ones. She found joy in simple pleasures-sipping coffee, knitting, and blasting music of all genres from her car speakers, unapologetically loud and proud.
More than anything, she loved love itself and cherished every moment surrounded by family.
Tragically, her life was taken in the most brutal way by the hands of someone she trusted-her partner of eight years. We are now faced with the overwhelming reality of arranging her funeral, ensuring her daughter can travel from Georgia to say goodbye, and retrieving her car from New Mexico, where her murderer abandoned it. On top of this, her children now face a difficult legal battle for justice, as well as the heartbreaking task of handling her home and belongings.
