Tragic Loss: Aid for Maygen and Son Isaiah
Donation protected

Maygen Reid's world was upended Monday morning.
Bob Copeland and her son, Isaiah, 13, were out working together as they often did. They'd left Turner Plumbing to go south for parts for the Turner Plumbing sign they were repairing, a dynamic duo, a team. Isaiah at his happiest, being with Bob, learning, helping.
In moments, all was asunder.
Hit from behind, Bob's Chevy work rig was pushed into the northbound lane and into the path of an elderly Coeur d'Alene couple in a northbound Honda Ridgeline pickup. Both vehicles burst into flames and shuddered to an uncontrolled stop, the lives of two families sundered irrevocably micro-seconds into the unimagined maelstrom of the tragedy.
Bob Copeland, 50, was dead. His compadre, his young friend, his son, hurt terribly, a medical aircraft "circling overhead" until a first responder called in coordinates and the helo pilot adjusted time of arrival.
According to his mother, Maygen Reid, Isaiah was LifeFlighted to a Spokane hospital in critical condition, with a fractured pelvis, bruised lung with a chest tube, injured spleen, and a pretty large laceration on the back of his head. He's intubated and sedated for now and that will be like that for a couple of days.
"Bob was the love of my life and I would give anything to get him back," Maygen said. "Not just for myself but for that boy in the ICU fighting. He was his best buddy. I ask for prayers at this time for my son and Bob's family!"
All funds contributed will go to Maygen to help as she puts her life together. 9B.News will donate the GoFundMe fees so Maygen and Isaiah will receive the full amount of each donation. Those who prefer can mail donations to Maygen Reid, c/o 9B.News, 6619 Kaniksu St., Rm 19, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805.
