Tragic fire takes life, leaves devastation.

My name is Courtney and I’m raising money to help my 2 cousins, Jenna and Ray Lewis, who tragically lost their mother, Kathleen (Kathy) Lewis, in a devastating house fire. Their childhood home, where I also spent a lot of time at as a child and young adult, is a complete loss.

Kathy was also my younger sisters godmother.

Ray has been a full time caregiver of

his elderly mother who had to have her hip replaced a month ago while already suffering from limited mobility including only having use of 1 of her arms.

The only home Ray has ever known including all of its contents were reduced to ashes. He was only able to escape with the clothes on his back. All pictures, belongings and memories are completely gone. The emotional and financial toll of their loss is immeasurable.

Ray does not have health insurance but he did spend some time in the burn unit. He did suffer minor burns and we do not yet know the extent of damage inhaling the amount of smoke he did while he was still in the house. Ray is displaced but temporarily living with his father at this time.

Kathy did not have a life insurance policy so the medical and funeral financial burden will fall solely on Ray and Jenna neither of whom ever ask others for help because they are the ones always helping.

Please donate whatever you can, anything is appreciated to try and take some of the financial weight off of their shoulders after this very difficult heartbreaking tragedy.

Until the investigation of the fire is concluded funeral arrangements are unknown at this time but will be updated as soon as we have them.
