Hi I’m Manny and I’m raising money to help my family.

My family was asleep in their beds on November 10th and woke up to smoke and flames at 6am. My grandmother and my 4 cousins rushed out of the home. By the time they woke up there was only time to rush to safety on the other side of the street. It is still unknown how the fire started but every room has been damaged due to the fire. All personal belonging were destroyed including family portraits and mementos. While insurance might cover a small portion of the repairs, I’d like to help with whatever I can thanks to your help.

Any contribution will be helpful as my family does not have a permanent place to stay, nowhere to make food, and no solution yet after this devastating emergency.

My grandmother came to America as an immigrant over 35 years ago with nothing but the clothes on her back. She sold cassettes on a street corner to make a living and saved every penny she could to afford a spot at the local swap meet. She continued to do the same until she finally purchased her cd and cassette music store. At that time it was a great industry to be in and with that she was able to purchase a home for her and her 3 daughters to live in. That was this home, it is devastating to see the pain in her eyes to see all she worked for go up in flames. She’s always happy to help others and it would be nice for her to be able to receive help in return for once.

Hola, soy Manny y estoy recaudando dinero para ayudar a mi familia. Mi familia estaba durmiendo en sus camas el 10 de noviembre y se despertaron entre humo y llamas a las 6 de la mañana. Mi abuela, su amigo, y mis cuatro primos salieron corriendo de la casa. Cuando despertaron, sólo tuvieron tiempo de correr a un lugar seguro al otro lado de la calle. Aúnque se desconoce cómo comenzó el incendio, pero todas las habitaciones resultaron dañadas debido al incendio. Todas las pertenencias personales fueron destruidas, incluidos retratos y recuerdos familiares. Si bien el seguro puede cubrir una pequeña parte de las reparaciones, me gustaría ayudar en todo lo que pueda gracias a su ayuda. Cualquier contribución será útil ya que mi familia no tiene un lugar permanente donde quedarse, ningún lugar donde preparar comida y aún no hay solución después de esta devastadora emergencia. Mi abuela llegó a Estados Unidos como inmigrante hace más de 35 años sin nada más que la ropa que llevaba puesta. Vendió casetes en una esquina para ganarse la vida y ahorró hasta el último centavo que pudo para pagar un lugar en la feria de intercambio local. Continuó haciendo lo mismo hasta que finalmente compró su tienda de CD y casetes. En ese momento era una gran industria y con eso pudo comprar una casa para que vivieran ella y sus 3 hijas. Esa era esta casa, es devastador ver el dolor en sus ojos al ver todo lo que ella trabajó para arder en llamas. Siempre está feliz de ayudar a los demás y sería bueno para ella poder recibir ayuda a cambio por una vez.
